Today is the birthday of Chandu Borde, a former Indian Cricketer , whose Test career spanned 11 years from 1958 till 1969. He played 55 test matches and scored 3061 runs with an average of 35.59 . he also played 251 First Class matches and scored 12,805 runs with an average of 40.91. Besides, as a bowler he took 52 Test wickets and 331 wickets in First Class cricket. His highest batting score in a test match was 177 not out.He also served as a Chairman of Selection Committee twice.
He is a recipient of Arjuna Award, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan .
