Today is the death anniversary of Shammi Kapoor, the first entertaining Romantic hero of Hindi cinema.Active for two decades from '50s to early '70s, he acted in many popular films like Tum Sa Nahin Dekha, Kashmir Ki Kali, Professor, Junglee, Jaanwar,Teesri Manzil, Dil deke Dekho Ujala, Bluff Master,Raj Kumar,Andaaz, Brahmchari, Singapore and others. He paired with all leading heroines of the time like Nutan, Madhubala, Asha Parikh, Saira Banu, Sharmila Tagore , the last two making their debut with him.
Acknowledged as Elvis Presley of Hindi cinema , he is known for evolving his own dancing style.
