Politics is not party politics only, rather anything nefarious,opportunistic and reeking of favouritism involves some kind of politics.I have had the bitter taste of this early in my life as a nine year old.I was in fifth class and won monitorship through open voting by a good margin.
The boy who lost to me and still wanted to become the monitor approached the class teacher.The boy's family enjoyed some clout in the school management, so obviously the teacher was also under some pressure. A docile student that I was, I gave in, rather gave up and let that boy be the monitor.
