Today is the birth anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy, a social reformer and the founder of Brahmo Samaj. He is credited with making relentless efforts to abolish the prevalent social evil of Sati and opening the doors to Western education and thought.
He is also acknowledged as the Father of Indian Renaissance !
